There was a giant called Lurgan, he was a great warrior in his day, he happened to be on a place called Murmod hill, he saw another warrior at a distance of about four miles, he said that he saw Fionn, he lifted a stone and threw it to the spot where he saw him, the stone which he threw was about two tons, the townland got its name from him.
