up with bags and sticks, they seem quite happy, all the men are tin smiths and they work at their trade and send the women round to sell their ware, and gather what they can at the farmer's houses.
Some of them take on to tell fortunes, they generally have old horses and assess with them, some have carts and the better class have caravans and the women sell lace, not many of the local people go near them, for they wreck fences and steal sticks and put their animals in to fields at night, they remain for about a week in the same place, about two years ago there came a party of them and they tried a few people about to get money from them, and said they would make a £100 for £20 but they caught no one slack.
