until the small woman went past them.
When she went past, the two women departed. Each woman went her own way. When the house - maid's mother came to a bend in the road she saw the little woman sitting on the ditch When the little woman saw her she got up and walked with her until she came to a stream which flowed across a path leading to a house. The house maid's mother ran towards the stream and the woman followed her. When they reached the stream the small woman vanished and when the other woman reached the house she fainted.
