  1. I am living in Ballyjamesduff, and there is a fort beside my house, in the townland of Moodouge.
    Once upon a time a poor man was in want of firewood. He was living near this fort, where there was a lot of trees. One night he went to the fort to cut a tree. When he reached the fort he began to cut it; when he had the tree half cut, a small man appeared before him. He was not a very strong man, so he fainted, when he got out of the faint, he got up, and went into the town, and told the people what had happened. The next
