  1. There is a well situated in the townland of Kilafindla, about a mile from Ballyjamesduff, known as Friar's well.
    It received its name because Friars lived there, long ago; and there are certain kinds of berries growing there, at certain times of the year.
    This is a holy well, and there is a cure in the water that is in it. The house in which the Friars lived, was called a Monastery, and it was situated beside the well, but there is no trace or track of it there, to - day.
