    the poor hungry people outside through a hole in the wall. The country was thickly populated in those years. There was fourteen families living in Donohue's lane. One of them was Kavanagh who in later years was arrested for making money where he lived in a lane at Ballypracus. He was known by the name of Pat the Nailer.
    In those years there was a family of Kavanaghs lived in the lane here adjoining the school. He was called Jacky and the lane took the name of Jackey's lane.
