  1. There was an old man named Michael Curran who used to teach night school.
    He used to stop three nights at Doyle's and two at Murphy's. The subjects he taught were Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. The children had to bring half crown every quarter.
    The infants and first class used to write with clay pipes and slates and the second class and third class used to write with pencils and a copy. There was another school in Coorduff.
