  1. The luckiest time of the year to get married is Shrove. The old people have many a proverb as regards Marriages. It is considered very unlucky for two persons in the one family to get married in the same year.
    A newly married couple returning from church after being married never think it lucky to meet a red haired woman.
    They say that it is very unlucky to meet a funeral after being married. After they being married the Bride Groom (would) throws up selves and who ever would get it could keep it.
