  1. About 17 years ago there was a great number of houses around the district burned by the Black and Tans.
    Some in Ennistymon, some in Miltown Malbay and more in other places around the country.
    On that day there was an ambush in Rineen and the I.R.A. shot the police.
    Then the Black and Tans wanted to have revenge and they went to those houses which they suspected had something to do with the shooting and burned them. I got this information from my father.
