  1. There is a pot of gold in a fort which belongs to John Cawley, Keash, Ballymote, Co. Sligo. There is a certain tree in this fort and there is a pot of gold under it. Once a number of men went to dig it, but when they had dug a certain length, they could not dig any further as there was a big flag over the pot of gold, but the flag was so large that they could not raise it, and they had to go home without the gold. There was a number of lights seen going from tree to tree in this fort. It is said that it was the fairies that buried it there and for that reason the people are afraid to touch the fort.
