  1. Long ago there was a lot of customs attached to St Patrick's Day.
    Crosses were made from green cardboard and worn on the shoulders.
    Some time ago everybody used to have green handkerchiefs for that day, and the day was spent visiting.
    The children held a feast on St Patricks Day, in honour of St Patrick.
    The men used to be saving money, for a month previous so that
