  1. About a hundred years ago, Daniel O'Connell was holding great meetings through the land at which he pleaded the cause of his country.
    At one of these meetings he was telling the people to buy Irish goods. Then someone in the crowd asked O'Connell if he carried out his own teachings - he should buy Irish goods himself.
