  1. About some 60 or 70 years ago it was a usual thing for different parties to indulge in what was called faction fights. The object was to know which party was the strongest.
    The parties and their friends would assemble at the fair and market and then two of the opposing parties would start the fight. Then each parties friends including the women would take sides and then the fight would start in earnest.
