    Folklore
Long ago in this district the roads were very bad. The principal means of transport was back-loads which meant baskets and straddle on a horse's back.
There were no motors or bicycles at that time. The most important of the old roads were Ard De-bhóthair, Gleann-tuaithill, Nock a Phónta 7 Slíabh Feathaibh [?] road.
