  1. The food the people used long ago was different to the food they use now. Their chief foods were potatoes, porridge and griddle bread. Their drinks were milk and water. They usually ate three meals in the day, the breakfast, the dinner and the supper. They worked for about two hours before the breakfast. For the breakfast they had griddle bread, porridge and milk. This break was made from ground barley and water. They also made bread from potatoes. For the dinner they had potatoes, salt and water. They never used
