    Long ago both men and women went to the fairs. The women had stalls and sold all kinds of fancy things. The men took pigs to the fair as well as cattle for there were no stores or factories then. They always had a fight in the fair evenings. The men would get drunk as drink was very cheap. They had many ways of marking cattle. Some people would mark them with chalk and mud and others with a scissors. It was
