- James carmody was a local Poet. He composed many songs. He died in 1936 aged 98 years. He was born in 1838 and was a poet and singer from childhood. He wrote many songs one of which was in memory of George Hewson. The people treated him very kindly and he was always welcome everywhere he went. He was a farmer and has daughters and sons living yet. He never wrote any of his songs or poems.
