  1. The year that the railway bridge was burned in Ballyhorgan 1921 the black and tans burned it. After the bridge was burned there were steps put across the river so the people could cross.
    In the year 1921 the train was held up with the people of the place. One Sunday a boy was bading at the pint of the Island. He got tangled in the weeds and he could not release himself. Two boys were walking on the bank and they saw him. When they had reached him he was dead. His name was Patrick Conelly.
