  1. There is a holy well about two miles from here. It is situated in a place called Ballam cleigh.
    The field in which the well is in, is owned by a man named Mr. Mc Namera.
    If a person had fever he had to make three visits to the well and leave something each time, say some prayers and he would be cured. It is said that if any person sees an eel in the well, they shall have luck for ever.
    There was a man who had sore eyes, and wished to have them cured. He went to the well three times and prayed hard. Immediately his eyes were cured. The man's name is Mat Hehir of Limerick.
