  1. We have a churn at home, it is a hand churn. We make seven pounds of butter every week in it. It takes about ten quarts of cream to make that much butter.
    It is easier to churn in Summer than in winter.
    It is a custom with a person who comes into the house while the churning is going on to take a turn at the churning or else the old people would say that he would take the butter with him.
