Another trick they had was: A girl washed her face in a basin of water. She could not dry it, but had to go to bed walking backwards, and when she slept se was supposed to dream that she would see the boy whom she would marry coming with a towel to dry her face.
The girl often put the last piece of her supper, and her first piece, in her right stocking, and tied it with her left garter. She put it under her pillow to dream on it. She thought that she would see her future boy loosening the garter.
A marriageable boy went out at midnight, and cut a green sod with a black-handled knife. He put this in his sock, and slept on it that(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
