  1. I live in the townland of Cloonageer. Long ago more people resided in this townland than there do nowadays. There are ruins of a Protestant school in this townland, and the last teacher who taught there was a girl by the name of Miss Park. She married a policeman by the name of Scanlon, and by her marriage she became a Catholic. There are still traces of an old house at the back of the school in which there lived a man by the name of Dan Bohan. There are also ruins of many other houses throughout the townland in which people lived long ago. Their names were:- Shaws, Fordes, Cashins, Smalls, Harts, Camphells, Brennans, Higgins, and McManuses now occupied by Darcys.
