  1. There were a great many houses in the townland of Breanrisk some years ago. Some of them are in ruins, and others are not to be seen. The ones that are in ruins are as follows:- Peter Casey's, James Reilly's, Pat Feeney's, Thomas Faughnan's. James Carroll's, and Thady Queenan's are not to be seen.
    The Casey family went above Newtownforbes to the ranches. The Reillys' also went to the ranches. Pat Feeny died, and Thomas Faughnan went to Scotland. James Carroll died, and Thady Queenan also died.
    There is no trace of James Carroll's house, and of Thady Queenan's house now.
