- If a person had a pain in his side, he would lift up a stone, and spit under it, and leave it down in the same place as it was. Then he would say three "Hail Marys" and if the spit was gone off the stone, when he had the prayers said, the pain would also go.
- If a person has a wart, it is said, if he is washing potatoes, and unexpectedly finds a stone in one of the potatoes, and if he rubs it to the wart, it will soon disappear. If he is out walking, and see a stone with a hole full of water in it, and if he rubs some of the water on the wart, the wart will soon disappear.
