- If a person with the evil eye comes into a house and looks at the churning no butter will come on the milk. If the person with the evil eye says God bless your work he can do you no harm. If he does not say that he can take the butter away. The person that is churning should run after the person with the evil eye and cut a piece for the tail of his coat and pin a red piece on instead. If this is done the butter will come back on the churn again.
