- In 1890 there was a severe snow storm andit was about eight or nine feet deep. It was level with the highest hedge. Then the snow got frozen and for three long months the people were walking over the hedges. It was blowing snow but still there was nobody lost.
It was hard to get drinks for anything or anybody. The people had to melt the snow. There were a lot of sheep lost that time.
The night of the big wind was in 1839 on the sixth of January. If a person was born before that night he would get a pension; that is what the old people.- Bailitheoir
