Ar an leathanach seo
- Long years ago, near the town of Kingscourt, there resided a blacksmith who was famous for his skill as a farmer. One night, very late, he was aroused from his bed by a strange gentleman who said he wanted a shoe for his horse. The blacksmith was unwilling to start the job at such an "unearthly hour". Bus his wife persuaded him saying that the gentleman might be on urgent business and it would not be right to refuse him. The blacksmith, rather reluctantly, got up out of bed and opened the forge. The stranger having entered with his horse, the blacksmith lit the fire and proceeded to make the shoe. When he had the shoe made he took it down to the horse to fit it on, and as he approached the animal, he was astounded to find that it had only three legs- two behind and one in the front- just in the centre of where the two front legs(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
