    the tops of the high trees. They do be cawing round it. They make their nests of pieces of sticks and straws. it is very hard to rob a crow's nest and small (birds) boys would not be able to climb up the tree's to rob it.
    There was a woman living in a house one time and a jack daw was building her nest in the chimney and the woman covered it with netwire. The jack daw cawed mournfully down at her nest. The next day there was a crowd of Jack-daws at the chimney. So it seems the birds have a language of their own.
    The robin is a common bird in this district. It comes and begs crumbs from our houses in winter. When there is snow out it comes hopping in front of our doors.
    Everybody likes the robin and would not kill it because it eats insects and worms that eat the farmers plants. People keep tame birds
