  1. Long ago the people ate three meals a day; in the morning, at noon and in the evening. The morning meal consisted of yellow meal porridge and buttermilk the noon meal was potatoes and cabbage or buttermilk and in the evening oaten bread, boxty or potato bread with goat's milk.
    The people often worked from day break until ten o clock fasting, then a pot of porridge and a gallon of buttermilk was sent out to the field to them. This made them very healthy.
    Potatoes were often eaten three times a day instead of other things. Sometimes the people.
