  1. Local Heroes.
    Long ago there was a man who lived not far from this district his name was Felix McGennis, Kilcogy, Co. Cavan, the people around called him "poocher". This man was very strong and he was able to lift a fifty six lb. weight on his finger and he was also a great boxer and fighter.
    This man was a very swift runner and also a very swift walker. He was able to walk to Mullingar and back in three hours. He was very fond of snaring rabbits.
