  1. Times have changed for the people of this locality in regard to above.
    Time was when fresh meat was a thing unknown except at Christmas. As it is fresh meat is still seldom used except on great occasions and bacon (fried or boiled) with potatoes and cabbage is the staple article of diet on week-days and Sundays. Sometimes soup is made from Chickens.
    Tea is used twice a day now but twenty years ago it was almost unknown.
    Oatmeal porridge with milk or buttermilk is also partaken of by every member of the house
