  1. In this district the people have certain customs on feast days such as on St. Stephen's day the boys and the grown up men called "Wren boys" go round from house to house collecting money.
    They dress themselves with straw and womens clothes and they bring musical instruments with them. At night they all collect in one house and they have a "wren spree".
    On St Patrick's day the people go to a public house to do honour to this day by drowning the shamrock.
