    had to go to school until they were eighteen or twenty years of age. The names of these were, Mr. Vane, Mr Lamb, Mr. Dore and Annie Comaskey.
    The parents of the pupils had to pay the teachers as there was no Government salaries at that time for education. At that time little irish was taught or spoken by the teachers or the pupils.
    They children used to sit on blocks of wood. They used to write on slates with slated pencils.
