    Mourn ye Roman Catholics to hear this mournful poem
    On the Rev. Father John Smith of the Holy Church of Rome.
    He left his sad bewailing flock at the age of 64.
    And ne'er again you'll see him in the Diocese of Kilmore.
    II
    For fifteen years as parish priest amongst us he did dwell,
    For piety and charity none could him excel
    Death caused his sad departure it was God's holy will,
    And silent tears from many flow around
