- the people in olden times used to take three meals every day. For these meals they used to eat wheaten bread and milk for breakfast, potatoes salt and buttermilk for their dinner and porridge for their evening meal. They never took tea. In the mornings they often worked for an hour before touching food, and they never eat late at night. They had no cups in olden times. They drank out of vessels called "noggins" made of wood and they also drank out of jam pots. The people in olden times were mush healthier and stronger than they are now.
