- Once upon a time there lived a man and his wife in a very backward place. They never saw a mirror.
One day there was a crowd of soldiers going past and they lost a mirror.
The man got it. When he looked into it and saw himself he thought it was a picture of his father. He said he would keep it in remembrance of him. He hid it. One day his wife got it. When she saw herself she said "Glory be to God, Look at the witch he is paying attention to now."
