Ar an leathanach seo

  1. There is a well in the townland of Ballyduffy, about a half mile from Moyne Crossroads, called the "Blessed Well". There is a constant stream of water flowing from it even during the driest Summers. People often tried to empty the well for the purpose of cleaning it, but they found it impossible , as the water gushed up as quickly as they poured it out.
    The water of this well is very, very cold even in Summer and when churning in the homes was very common, people came from far and near to this well for water to dress the butter.
    The old people tell the following story about this well:-
    Long ago the women never used to do their washing in the house. If there was a stream or river near where they lived, they carried their clothes there and washed them, and often of a stream wasn't convenient they brought
