The Irish had only a small amount of artillery and pikes.
There are some remains of old guns and pikes to be found in the Battle field over the village.
General Blake was the commander of the Irish army. After the battle the English hanged him on Kiltycreevagh hill from the shafts of a cart.
He was waked in James McKenna's and buried in Tubber Patrick.
