    The second was held about the 24th April. The third about the 24th July. and the last fair was held about the 24th Oct.
    The pig fair was always held on a Thursday, and the one for the cattle, sheep and horses was held on the following Monday. The pig fair of Barry was said to be the biggest in the midlands. The fair of Barry was said to be lucky.
    There is an old saying about the fair of Barry. It is.
    "If you dont sell in Barry,
    You will come home sorry."
    This fair is discontinued on account of Barry being so near Ballymahon.
