Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The townland in which I live is called Killnacarrow which in Irish means the wood of the weir. It is situated in the parish of Carrick-edmond and in the barony of Shrule.
    There are five families in it comprising twenty two people. The number of houses in it are five, three of which are thatched, one cottage and one slated farmer's house.
    There were ten houses in former times, three of which are scarcely visible and two of which are now in ruins. A lot of the people of this townland emigrated to Canada and Australia. As there was no other means of transport they used to go to the near-by lock which is called Draper's bridge and get in on a canal boat.
    According to my father's knowledge, the old Fianians held their meetings in a corner of a field south east of the townland owned
