- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)May Day
On May Day the people gather flowers and throw them outside the door. On May Eve they cut down a green bush and stick it down into the ground in front of the door. They dress it with flowers and egg shells, and coloured paper. They leave leave it there until the end of the month, and then throw it away.
Hallow Eve
On Hallow Eve night we (get) play games in our house. One of these games is we get three saucers and put clay in one, water in another, and a ring in another. Each one shuts his eyes and puts his finger into one of the saucers. If he puts his finger into the one with the clay he will soon die, if he puts his finger into the one with the water he will cross the water, and if he puts his finger into the one with the ring he will soon get married.
