- There are four girls get together, find a dry flat spot and sit on the ground. They have selected fairly round stones. To decide who will play first they "pink" that is they put the five jackstones on the palm of the hand, throw them up and try to catch all they can on the back of the hand. The following terms are used for the different parts of the games : - Ones-ies, fives, tens, fifteens, twenties, bobsies, high-drums, scatter onesies, scatter twosies, scatter big bobs, big noise, no noise, lick the plate, skim the heeler, churn the milk, make the butter, pick a nóinín, double pick, lay an egg, lay double, take up and leave down, wash the clothes, wring them, put them out and bring them in, put the irons in the fire, iron them, put the clothes in the chest, knock at the hall door, double knock, sweep the parlour, put the pigs out under the bridge.
