  1. There was a convent in Knocksimon about one hundred years ago. The track of the convent is still to be seen, and the old iron pots and other vessels that were used are to be seen also. There is a large ring dug down into the ground on the side of the hill. It is said that the nuns used to sit around in the ring in the summer evenings. There were always about eighty children in the convent. The field where the convent stood is called the convent field.

  2. About one hundred years ago there was an old chapel on the road from Coralstown to Killucan. The spot where the chapel was is surrounded by bushes. Unbaptized children were buried in it. The walls of this old chapel are still to be seen. It is supposed that a dead woman walks from the old chapel to Footysbrigde six times every night.
