It. Put it to your mouth and blow into it so it will whistle.A kite is made in this way. Two laths are got, one three feet log and one a foot and a half long. Then they are put in the shape of a cross. Then paper is tacked on the laths and a tail put on it. The tail is made with bits of paper tied with twine.Whistles are also made from a bit of hazel stick. I often made a crib for catching birds in winter time. It is made with older sticks.A bow made of hazel is fastened inside and a prop is carried to the bow from the edge of the crib. Food is put inside. When the birds hops on the bow or perch the prop falls and the bird is caught inside. A riddle is often used for the same purpose.Supplied by Joseph Kelly
