  1. Buying and selling.
    Long ago shops were no as common in the country as now. the country people usually came to the town to do their shopping.
    When they came they usually brought home as much things as would do them for a long time.
    A bag of flour and a flitch of bacon were usually seen in the country man's cart. Long ago selling was done after mass in other districts but this was not done here. tobacco is usually sold after mass now in small shops.
    Barter was not carried out here. That means people never exchanged goods with one another. Workers often gave labour for goods.
    That meant the labourer worked for a farmer and received as payment a free house, potatoes,
