The Ghosts road is another disused road it leads from the Gernonstown road to the Rushee road and it is not repaired at all. It got its name from a graveyard beside it in which ghosts were supposed to be seen.
There was a river flowing under the road, but there is no trace of a bridge.
The New line road is another road that was made in the year 1800 and it leads from Drogheda to Belfast and the stage-coaches used to go to Belfast that way.
The Rathkenny road was made in the year 1799. There was one very big hill on it which was 30 feet above sea level. It was cut out in 1847 and there is almost 20 feet of a bank which remained to to-day on each side of it.
The Rushwee road was made in 1847 by the English as relief work. It had to be made with shovels and pick-ackes as there were no steam-rollers like now and people worked for a penny an hour.
