  2. On St. John's night fires are lit at cross-roads and on top of mountains. Every farmer lights a bush in the midst of his cattle and in his garden.

  3. On May eve a bush is cut off a hawthorn and on the bush a bunch of wild flowers are tied with ribbons it is then stuck down in the ground and left there. This is done to honour the Blessed Virgin.
