    Friday is thought the lucky day for setting potatoes. People going into new houses go into them on Friday.
    May Eve.
    On May Eve which is the 30th of April, pishogues are carried out. There is a great number of them there. Pishogues are practiced in order to spoil people's property. Eggs are put in people's hay.

  2. Fairy Forts.
    They are known in this district as forts. They are high mounds of earth where the fairies are supposed to dwell. The owners of these forts never cut bushes in them for it is said that something would happen their children.
    Lights were often seen in them and the noise of churning was heard there. There is a fort in Clonkelly and it is said that if you cut bushes in them you would be invalided for life.
