    Forty years ago the young lads living around Mullinahone made pop-guns.

    was then put into water and the boys had great fun firing streams of water at one another. Plugs of paper were also put in at one end of the gun, and forced out by the piece of wood. When the plug left the gun a loud report was heard. They were harmless childish playthings, and I fear present day youth in their twentieth century wisdom would not derive much sport from them.
