    A poor simple man from the district of Mullinahone stole a pig

    A poor simple man from the district of Mullinahone stole a pig and on this account he was always afraid to go to confession. At last somebody encouraged him to go as there was a nice confessor in the box. He went in and began to tell his sins. He began saying I stole a piece of rope Father. He kept repeating it so the priest said "Anything else that's all right and again he said "I stole a piece of rope". The priest said in exasperation "This rope seems to be giving you a great deal of trouble". "Oh yes Father" said the poor man "but, there was a pig tied to the end of it
